when honesty is perceived as "self pity"

Is it better to just be deceitful? is it better to sacrifice integrity to maintain some "image" or is it better to be honest even if honesty, in the end, is painful?

Of course not. Honesty comes first, but we also have to try to be mindful of the delivery. Pain is never pleasant, but sometimes necessary. <hugs> as you find your way.

I've wondered that, myself. It seems like my choices are being a phony clown or debby downer.
