Something good! I'm actually touched by this and shocked!

My best friend A came up with an idea for my 50th birthday. Now, bear in mind that I've never had a birthday party except for one when I was in first grade and only one kid showed up. A got in touch with my other friend who lives in town, here on my street, R and they decided to take me for a girls night out for my birthday. It's on a Sunday and A has her kids on Saturday nights so we are going to do it on the Friday beforehand, the 18th. We are going to dress to the nines and take my car because everybody thinks it's cool and almost "gangsta" cause it's old school. We are also taking my 20 year old daughter P and my younger son's 19 yo live in gf H who gets along with me real well and we hang out some.

A doesn't drink much so she won't have more than one or two that night, if that, and she's the designated driver. I can't drink at all then because I'm back on Welbutrin to stop smoking and I'll have quit by then and even one drink will cause me to think I can have just one cigarette and that will have me starting back, so I'll get good cocktails but get virgin ones. We are going to restaurants that have a bar area in there so the two girls can get in and also so we can order appetizers. My daughter drinks sometimes, but usually never more than two or three, and I'll just order a regular pina colada or margarita or something and she can order the virgin kind and we can switch, that way she can have a cocktail or two. She never drinks much to get drunk so I don't have to worry about that. A will do the same thing with H for a couple, since A is the designated driver. R may be the only one who gets a good buzz going lol.

But we plan on going to several restaurant/bars and sampling lots of appetizers and having fun. R is looking for a place to go dancing that the girls can get into too, and unless D, who is a guy and gay and in his late 20s, early 30s and a really good friend of mine, can come we will just have to dance with each other. D doesn't have his work schedule yet so he doesn't know if he will be off or not. A wants to find some male strippers but I don't think the girls can get into a club like that under 21 even though they are over 18. Neither of them has a friend over 21 that looks like them enough to use their ID's either. And before somebody starts in on yelling at me about morals, it's just a couple of drinks and if we could find it, watching some male strippers dance and giggling our asses off. Hell, P has a bottle of wine in the fridge right now that one of her fiance's sisters gave her for Christmas. She's fine with drinking, as is H.

But, what got me was the fact that all my life my birthday has never been a big deal. Nobody outside my family remembered it or did or said anything about it. Now, A has arranged a girl night for me and we are going to have a blast!! I'm so touched that she even thought about doing it, let alone went to all the trouble to talk to everybody and set it up! I'm actually speechless as to how to thank them for this.

I'm simply floored.
