The cat has maybe got shut in somewhere. That happened with a cat we had several years ago. It disappeared for more than a week then suddenly reappeared, covered in coal dust and very hungry. It must have been accidentally shut in a coal cellar during that time. Odds are it will come back; they know where home is and where they can get food.

I had a few cats in my life (currently have 2) and they all liked to go missing for a few days sometimes (even those neutralized, btw, a neutralized female cat can still "be on heat", it is known issue, it is called third ovary).

It is spring now, the weather is nice, there is plenty of "cat food" around (mouses xD). Once I had a cat that went missing for half of year - he went out in April and come back in November, but he was a total wierdo xD. She will be fine. She is just too happy outside to go home, especially since she is young and discovering a whole new world. My cats currently come home only "to say hi" and after a few minutes they want to go outside again - I can clearly see the world is fascinating to them, especially to the 1 year old neutralized boy, he disappears for 24-48h on regular basic. Don't worry. 24h is not much. You can start to worry after a few days if you don't see the cat till then. But I am pretty sure you will.

I hope your kitty comes home soon.My newly adopted dog wandered off not long after I got him,I was in a panic wondering where he went.My son went looking for him and found him on the neighbors front porch.Whew.I hadn't had time to get a collar for him with my name on it but I went right away after that.I was worried someone would see him on the road and think he was a stray and pick him up.Some body may have put out food thinking that about your kitty, she will get bored and come home.

That's how we ended up with one cute young cat. It started appearing near the door so we put some food down for it. After a while it adopted us and became our cat. It was a number of months later we discovered it had another "owner" 1/4 mile away, but they didn't particularly mind. When we moved house the cat moved with us. People don't tend to own cats so much as cats chose to stay with someone (or not). A bowl of food, some affection and a warm home and they are anybody's

I hope she returns soon, she might just be exploring, or have been accidentally shut in somewhere...

Put up posters and signs in the local area.

My brother moved home and lost his cat for 6 months after it got out. A friend of his girlfriend saw a 'Found' poster in a shop 6 months later in a neighbouring village miles away. They got her back and she is still going strong 10 years later.

I hope you get a good outcome to your situation soon.

I second putting up signs and posters. It worked for me too, many years ago. My cat went missing and we searched and put up posters with our phone number on them. We got several phone calls telling us of sightings, but when we got to the location couldn't find our cat. Then finally after two weeks of this, someone called saying he was in their backyard, and we got our cat back! It was all because we had kept those poster out there, stapled to telephone poles and similar.

hi guys thanks for ur support
i feel very comforted here at wrong planet

its too bad that she had to run away like this
my son says he heard her meow but when he went to the window
she wasnt there
i feel that she might be stolen by the sweepers who come to clean
they always used to call her and stare at her

in india the scenario is pretty bad unlike west
here there are huge open drains
and lot of stray dogs on street
if she as wandered off she could be attacked by stray dogs
and there are so many open drains

the scenario is very dangerous here...
i dont know how she will survive
its been almost 48hrs now

putting poster might not help
since there are so many stray cats roaming on the streets here
plus the kids tear off the posters here

If he says he did hear her he probably did. She can be locked somewhere in that case. Take a good look around the house and in the house (basement, attic), calling her name and listening. It might be hard to identify where the meow comes from. One of my cats went to an unused basement room through the half open window and was meowing from there once. We could occasionally hear his meow but we had no clue where it comes from till another cat helped us find him by showing us the basement door. Other one got accidentally closed at our attic and somehow managed to get on the roof (3rd floor height...) and was meowing from there. We were looking for him all around but not the roof since we didn't know it is possible to a cat to get on the roof. I still have no idea how he got there.

i guess the sweepers who come to clean the compound have stolen her....
by the time my son ran to the window she was gone
they had a eye on her from a longtime
