This whole dog thing

Yes, I'm posting a lot in here right now. I just have to get it out somewhere so here it all is.

Last year my husband was going to his mothers house. She lives at the end of a dead end street and you come over a hill right before you get there, so it's like a blind hill. She also lives in an area that has a leash law for the dogs although nobody pays attention to it. They run all over the place. Her next door neighbor is a retired deputy. When DH was coming over the hill he didn't see the deputy's dog laying in the middle of the road and hit it. He tried to say he was sorry and help but the idiot was screaming and carrying on so he let it go.

Deputy took his dog to the vet and paid $3000 to get it fixed. He went and swore out a ticket against DH and DH went to court. DH also wouldn't say s**t if he had a mouthful so he didn't say very much at the hearing and got slapped with the vet bills and a fine for going over the speed limit. Yes, he was going over the speed limit but not the 55MPH that the deputy said he was because if he had been he would have wrecked into the shed. He started making payments then missed one and they put a warrant out for him. He was at her house again, right before Thanksgiving and the deputy saw him and called the cops and got him arrested and kept in jail over the weekend. We went to court and got payments set up again and he was let go. He got laid off in Feb and because he missed another payment the judge took away any ability to pay in payments and now the whole thing, $3k has to be paid by this coming Wednesday. DH had been out of work for a couple months and just now gone back.

He will have to go to jail for a year Wednesday, because he hit a f*****g dog laying in the middle of the f*****g road, over a blind hill because the deputy is a goddamned idiot. We have no legal recourse and can't afford to pay a lawyer. Deputy wants DH in jail because he doesn't like him, deputy and judge know each other. We are screwed, blued and tattooed.

I'll have no job during that time because there is no work in town here, and even if there was I can't get the car fixed to get there. I won't be able to pay my bills, and even though I'll have food stamps I can't cook anything. Plus it will be unsanitary to live here with no running water. I will die. I have nowhere else to go.

Over a f*****g dog! I think that if you let your dog run loose then it's at your own risk, especially if there is a leash law. Also, who the HELL pays $3K to a vet for a dog that's about 10 years old? Who the HELL would expect the person who is living paycheck to paycheck to actually reimburse you for it?

I HATE that man and his little dog.

Is there a public defender's office in your area that might be able to help? Are there any social services attached to the food stamp offices (like information about a social worker who could advise you?)

I don't know. I gotta get on that tomorrow. I did manage to get a grand of my husband's future inheritance from my SIL though. It's on it's way. That's the power, the rest of the water, and part of the insurance fine. So that's a load off my chest.

I'm still FURIOUS about the dog thing. I'll have to deal with all that next week. I mean for real, when you let your little dog out to play in the road, why in the world would you think you could sue somebody that is using the road when they hit him? Ain't like DH was joyriding through the f*****g dog park. When I saw my own pregnant dog ran over right in front of me, I was actually scared the lady might sue us for the damage to her car but she was nice and didn't. She felt bad about hitting her, as of course anybody would be. The road is for cars, not dogs.

DH asked me what I wanted for dinner tonight. I told him I want the heart of Deputy Douchebag and his head with an apple in his mouth! Grrrr! I so cannot wait until we get that SOB paid off and I see him again when I'm at my MIL's. I'm going to pick a fight with him that he won't ever forget, PLUS I'll make him throw the first punch and have witnesses and camera footage so I'll be off the hook legally, even though I plan on beating the living crap out of him. When I talked to him on the phone the other day, begging him to drop it and he wouldn't, I called him everything but a child of God and told him he wasn't anything more than a money hungry, whiney, panty waist little baby girl. Some big bad deputy there, he got his little feelings hurt.

Also, another consideration in this is that the dog was seriously f****d up after having a van run over him. And was old. You don't prolong that kind of suffering, but he did and he gives that dog pain meds every day for it. He's still in pain a year later! You put the dog down when something that bad happens. He's doing it just to try and extort the money from my MIL. I got that b***h's extortion right here. I've got a great dog, that I love dearly and he's a real dog. A big wolf husky hybrid. That's my dog, and my baby. But if he was hurt that bad, even if I had the three grand to spare, I wouldn't put him through that. I'd have him put down and be there with him. I'd also accept the apology from somebody who hit him. This dog is one of those wierd rat things with the wirey skinny hair that looks like it needs a perpetual combover. He should go to the pet store and get a hamster. It would be about the same thing.

I can't even afford three HUNDRED to get my medicine to fix me, and he wants us to pay back three THOUSAND for a goddamned DOG!
