Actually, as far as I know that's perfectly legal. We got more notice, but Mom and I moved out of a lot of places because the landlord needed a place to put a son/daughter/niece/nephew/brother/sister/parent. And the available space just happened to be the space we were in.
Tough deal, but there it is.
Hope very much that you find a room to rent or something. I'd say you could live with us for a few months if you could get yourself a ticket to PA, but Hubby threw fits when I let my high school buddy move in to our spare room (still complains about it, and that was almost a decade ago). He's having meltdowns over company coming up when it's not his company. I don't think he'd be cool with Someone I Know From The Internet.
Frankly, you probably wouldn't like living with me, or my kids, or the cats, or the dog, or the household and yard labor that I'd charge in lieu of rent.
If it helps any, you are probably catastrophizing. There are probably lots of rooms for rent, and you will probably find one and move into it just as happily as you moved into this one.
I will certainly hope for that for you.
