I recently got a job at LYFE kitchen as a Broil Cook and so far I really like it and like to work with the PM team and have an awesome flow. Then I got my Schedule which has me going from 2 or 3 PM until about 10 or 11PM. Me I wouldn't care because I like what I'm doing with the team, but then my ride/transportation asked that is there a way to get out earlier....before I answer here is a little something people don't know about the Kitchen. You DONT get the hours you ask for..and you ESPECIALLY don't leave without helping clean up meaning you either open in the morning, then clean up and get things ready for PM shift or Close and vice versa. So basically no, there was no way of getting out earlier unless your morning shift or there was some sort of lunch shift (which to my knowledge there isn't one)..and people that know me know that I DONT DO MORNINGS...EVER! (The WHOLE reason I went to Culinary School THROUGH the Culinary program and NOT Baking is so I don't work mornings) so asking me to work mornings is like shooting yourself in the foot and moving away from people you like at the same time. It takes away what I LIKE about working there and turns it into a J O B. I said I rather quit then work mornings and he gone to say then I just don't have enough Passion.(This is what set me over the edge royally..im still mad as I type this.).

Look there is one thing and ONE thing ONLY that would even make me content to work Mornings..and its that's if I'm doing this for a Girlfriend/Significant other but seeing as I'm still single and never had a GF im $*@# outta luck...Family? I'm sorry but they of all people should already know how I feel on the subject and should truly understand why I rather quit than work mornings.

Here is the thing..I've heard the term everybody has to make sacrifices...my family made sacrifices (sleep wise) to take me to culinary school and back so when I graduate/go on extern. Right now where I work its a lot shorter distance to get there than where my school was. but my hours go from 3 until 10 or 11PM which where my ride doesn't like because its now a inconvenience to him sleep wise. Unfortunately the hours of a chef/cook are long and near impossible to change to something to ones liking...to my knowledge there is no lunch shift where there is middle ground where everyone wins.. right now everyone in my house likes working at their shift..because THEY are the ones not having to change it but I am instead...basically what they are asking out of me is to stop being happy at my job so they can continue to be.

I never like working mornings for ANYTHING in my entire life, I just don't. which why I am so upset because after a year of working for this certificate only to end up doing the one thing I don't want to do makes the ENTIRE thing a utter waste of my time and I am the only one that ends up being unhappy working at their job which is why I said I rather quit which in turn doesn't look good on my for future jobs.....this is why I don;t get close to anything because complicated s**t like this always happens to me. and im seriously fed up with it.

As stated before the only thing that can remotely make thing god damn thing worthwhile is if I had a Girlfriend/Spouce I'm doing this for..otherwise I feel like I'm in a dark place right now.
