I am sorry for possibly annoying you with an "I am worried that I have Asperger's and I don' to know what to do" post, but I am alone in a tough situation right now. I really do think I have Asperger's or something of the sort, and really have no one in my life that is willing to listen or help.
Ok, I'll admit it now. I am a bad hypochondriac. I have thought I had so many terminal illnesses over the past few years, but that's it. Only terminal illnesses. Even in the midst of those panic attacks, I knew that my fears were irrational. With Asperger's, I have a lot of reasoning behind my suspicions. I would go into them but for the sake of length I'll move on.

Whenever I approach someone with the question of who is best to talk to when feeling down the answer is almost always your parents. This is hard for me, because approaching them with any problem, including thinking I have AS, they YELL at me. It's really hard on me because they always go on about how I can trust them with anything and they'll always help me but the NEVER DO. They yell at me, to the point where I run up to my room in tears, then burst out crying. At this point it's safe to say I don't trust them to support me anymore.

I want to talk to another adult, but I don't know how. Even if I do, my parents would definitely find out. I just don't know what to do because I need someone to teach me the skills I can't pick up like everyone else. My difficulty in communicating with other people causes the most problems in my life and I have no one to help me.

Have you ever studied the transition from Roman Kingdom to Roman Republic? I wouldn't be surprised if that would hold your interest, and make you happy. You mentioned that you were interested in the transition from the Roman Republic to the Roman Empire. Also: Have you studied the Roman Senate? At least some of the people who were Senators were great orators and great debaters. Do they have a debate society in your school?

Have you ever spoken to a guidance counselor at your school? I've had mixed success with that when I was your age (that was in 1974). How about somebody who does "resource room" or whatever.

I think you'll be okay eventually. I was worse than you when I was 13. I was almost thrown out of school for being so weird. One day, I wore football shoulder pads to school. I did many other weird things. My obsession was the Evolution of Man. Now, I've had my job for many years, and will retire with a decent pension (provided I live another 8 1/2 years LOL).
