I just found out today that my grandmother (who is 75 years old) is diagnosed with breast cancer. My mom told me my grandmother's doctor is going to do their best to cure it, but I don't know yet how it will be done (chemo, mastectomy, etc.). She also assured me that everything will be alright, but I still have mixed feelings about the whole thing.

I do fear that my grandmother may not live to see my wedding, which is this April. Also, I can't help but feel bad for her cat as well, as her cat needs constant attention and my grandmother can't always keep up with him.

If anyone has any advice, I'm willing to listen. Hugs and prayers are appreciated, too.

I'm sorry to hear about your Grandmother. There are new drugs becoming available all the time and it sounds like her doctors are prepared to get on top of it.
I'm sure you'll look after her and be wonderful at helping with pussycat too.

I'd also like to add that my grandmother will be tested to see if she has a cancer gene. If she does, then my mom, aunts, and I need to be tested as well. Considering that a great aunt of mine passed of breast cancer years back, this is a very scary thought. My mom kept saying to stay positive, but I just can't do it, I'm too scared and upset!

My aunt had breast cancer, which required a mastectomy. Despite that, she would go on to have several more children, giving me many many more cousins ranging from age 27 to just entering puberty.
