Several years ago I had a cavity drilled on a certain tooth, and the cavity was so deep that the dentist was worried that the tooth would just up and die one day. Well, I just got back from the dentist, and he said that the tooth finally died and now it's infected and I will need a root canal. The weird thing is, I'm not in pain. Usually when a tooth is infected like that one will be in extreme pain, but I'm not. I have dental insurance through Obamacare and my mom said she'll look for an endodontist within the plan network so the plan will pay for most of it.

When I needed a root canal I didn't have any pain either. The procedure also wasn't as bad as they say it is. I mean, I can think of lots of things that are worse than getting a root canal. I hope it goes well for you.
Good luck and stay safe.

Perhaps the nerve is dead already and the infection hasn't hit sensitive tissue yet? (I have no idea if this is even possible).

Or perhaps you have sensory issues when it comes to extreme pain, when I am hurt badly I don't tend to feel it much or at all.
