I can't even talk about it....my situation is changing...and I am being strongly adviced to give up my cats...Mom is telling me that I can get a really pretty cat later in my life but that is no help...It's the kitties that I am living with that are so special to me...This conversation just really got me down....even more than the rejection letters that keep arriving at my mail box... 
I'm determined to find a way to keep my kitties...

Why do you have to get rid of them?
If it is the cost, then maybe you can give up some other luxuries? You could make a list of the stuff you buy, and decide what you need and what you don't. It must be horrible, Giving up a cat would be like dumping a child in an orphanage.
I'm sure you'll find a way.

Well, you are being advised, but that does not mean you have to take the advice, unless the animals are yourself are suffering in some way... I always miss my beloved cat. I cannot have pets where I am, but as soon as I have a place that allows them, I will be getting a cat. I hope your situation doesn't compel you to get rid of them.
