How commonis it for an adult aspie to have very frequent meltdowns? Everything seems to cause me to have a meltdown whether is being in a crowded place too long, visiting my now common law husband's grandmother (she makes us sleep in separate beds) or meeting a friend of his haven't met before. I have meltdowns minimum twice a week. Does anyne else experience them so frequently or am I the only one? I have researched and tried to implement some strategies myself (having a chill passtoleave a situation, having an emergency chat app on the iPad for when I go non verbal ( big clue im about to have a meltdown ) passing apps on the iPad that allow me to calm down by playing with lava and lights (Fluidity app) and such that I can hold off a meltdown until I get home and having a sensory chill out room in my house. Any other suggestions ( get professional help or see a psychiatrist, doctor, etc is not what I want to hear) that I can implement on my own? As always suggestions are appreciated. :D

To me it sounds like autistic burnout. I have it from taking 18 credits of college classes. Nearly broke down in chior for no reason. It can be caused by persistant stress that can be small in nature, or lack of sleep, or many other things This leads to the frequent meltdowns which is overload. So more meltdowns means you are being overloaded more. So the main thing it to eas up a bit. It is common for adults to have. This is from what I can see so I could be completely wrong, but from my experience with it it is burnout.

Could be a burnout.

But it could also be related to hormones. You are a woman, right? Did you realize the meltdowns getting worse during the time of 2 weeks before period? It was the case for me recently. Autism with Premenstrual Exacerbation is no fun.

It could be a burn out. I have frequent meltdowns daily. It's my job causing it. I have to deal with serving literally around a thousand customers back to back a day. After an hour I'm completely shut down and in robot mode. Somedays I want to throw stuff, walk out and quit and speak bluntly to the customers. Can't leave my station either to chill out.

Thankyou everyone for the info on burnout. I didn't know about that. Thanks. I think that's what it is.
