trouble with college

I just checked my overall grades for college and I am worried. I had a D in one of my classes. My friend, who is not in the same major, but same college, has it that is she had two Ds in her major, she is kicked out of the program. I am worried that this might happen to me, though I do not know if that's how my major works. Its stressing me out, and now I am overthinking every thing.

Every major is different, and it depends on which class the D is in. Departments will care more about certain classes than others, so it's important to check with your adviser, if possible. They will be able to give you the best information on how that D will effect things and if you need to watch out in future classes.
