I am so isolated. I can't go out, because I'm not allowed to.

I'm sick of feeling like I'm missing out on life...

Is there something I can do about it?

Well, you told me about this before on MSN.

It's upsetting that you feel this way. I feel the same frequently, like I'm isolated and missing out on lots. But you're still 15.
You have a whole life ahead of you.

What you can do is go out, think to the future, and avoid thinking negatively. Being depressed makes you feel bad.

I would go out, but I'm not allowed.

Why are you not allowed to go out? You are old enough that you should be allowed to go out, that is insanity...and if you cannot go out, then all I can suggest is that you explore the world via the internet and learn as much as you can here so that when you finally are given your freedom, you know how to deal with it better.

Unless there's a very good reason for your not being able to leave the house I'd say your parents are either so overprotective that it's unhealthy or they are dangerous control freaks who need to get a grip on their sad little lives. Why can't you leave the house?

And I know you say you're isolated but you have us. I know it's not much really but it's a start.

Mum won't let me go out, but I don't know why.

Have you asked her? I suspect, going off what you're like here, it might be to do with them feeling that you won't be safe on your own. It's just a guess and probably a bad one but there must be a reason for this restrictive behaviour on their part.

Nope. But I can when I get home. I want a friend, but I'll never have one if I can't go out.

Sounds like there's something wrong with her in that case then.

I'd love to give you one (sorry about the pun) but I'm afraid life doesn't work like that. :(

Well, that's one thing that can't be changed. When you're feeling upset, it helps to do something you love.
