When I was in the county jail in Santa Cruz and then a hospital for a couple days after that from about the 10th to the 22d last month , did anyone here notice that I was gone ?
(This is more detailed in my " Back from jail and a slight heart attack " post in The Haven .)
A friend of mine sended E-mail and PM to tell people that I was incarcerated , and how to find out my address to write me/possibly visit/send allowed gifts if you cared to , but the friend didn't get a post here on WP up to state that ~ You get absolutely no access to to computers in jail , someone who wished to contact me would have had to write a USPS letter or visit/send . I got outta the can earlier than was originally said , so , if anyone wrote me , I guess it did not reach me . Now , I am rather stuck in the Santa Cruuz area , really needing to get to San Francisco to try and hunt up medical opportunities and explore the possibility of going to City College Of San Francisco ~ However , my money keeps pissing away ! :(

I'm sorry to report that no one gets "missed" around here unless they post something after they've returned. It has happened to me more than once.

Look for thread titles like "Where is ..." And "What ever happened to ...", and see how many there have been in the last ten years. You may need only one hand to count them.

I didn't notice you were gone, because I have been noticing your posts. I didn't check the dates on your posts though so it's likely that I just presumed you were still here even though you weren't. 8)

I see you post a lot of things like '..15' in threads.

I could have sworn I just saw you post not that long ago? :?
I have a hard time telling time when it comes to internet going ons. Ok, it's not that good off the internet... things I feel like just happened turn out to have happened weeks, or months, ago...

I missed you! :geek:

I have a good memory for members with unique user names and notice when they haven't posted in a while.

I was glad to see you post again. Sorry to hear that you are having such a rough time of it though.

You did post not that long ago. So I didn't exactly miss you, but I've been really worried about you.

I hope you can find a ride. Is it a problem to hitchhike for you?

I missed you while you were away from WP. People do get missed around here. I missed reading your posts and stories. I'm sure that many others missed you as well. It's nice to see you again.

...Hitchiking to SF is NOT an option: (1) my health - feet , especially :( (2) I presume you're not American ? From the 80s/onward hitchiking has become VERY disapproved of in the US in general .
Especially with the Boardwalk being 5150d , giving me a desire to try and pursue their justification for: (A) the throwing me off in the first place and (2) the justification for the 5150-ing , and , my annual expense of buying my younger brother presents + a card for his late July birthday ~ I really might be stuck here , and with my (by the week , remember) SSDI money down to a pretty small amount ~ I might be stuck here , briefly , either in jail or out for now :? (wanted " blank expression 'motie here , can't get it now-:-() .

...My money , coming in tomoorow , will be about $160-plus .
I really need at least a touch of new (second-hand , mostly anyway) clothes , especially since I bought unsuitable small pants last week . $30 ?
My brother's present will come to , maybe , $50 , about 1/5 of that perhaps charges from my ATM card , not the purchase .
$20 to be in my pocket if I'm arrested ?
Maybe $20-30 to leave in my card for , if I'm arrested and cut loose the next morning , immediately accesible duckie$ .
$10 , " bus and newspapers " ?
This isn't even counting food and there is no " free feed " in SC that I'm regularly familiar with , si0nce the HSC drop-in food closed down :( .
Frankly , I'm running through my latest K-mart underwear again , likely on Wed. I'd have maybe one on and just one?? - Maybe two?? - more to have waiting for me if I'm arrested and jailed to put on when I get out of jail ?
In SF , I'd try to get in touch w/the CCSF people , I guess gritted-teeth/resigned try to arrange a shelter thing , and maybe follow hospital possibilities ?
However , due to bleeding feet , I went to the SC hospital last night ~ At least for once , they bandaged & treated my feet (tho the bandage is on its way to falling off already ~ Likewise , I received some treatment for a weird combination of straight sunburn and weird " bubbling "/blisters on part of the sunburned area that looked like I'd backed into a frying pan w/oil , but the bandage was working itself off the next morning , & I have now removed it) - no words about my diabetes from them (or pills/prescriptions - beyond , maybe , the fact that my lack of a correct " primary physician " has snared me in getting burecaric hospitals to write 'em for me) .
I) really may be in jail by Friday , or , perhaps i can get to SF ~ If more do$h occurs ?

I've been following your story in the other thread. I hope you are able to get some good solutions soon. I wish I was in a position where I could help out.
Good luck and stay safe

I'm from The Netherlands and hitchhiking is being frowned upon here, too. But I don't care. There's always someone friendly who will pick you up eventually. Of course, looking badly may well decrease your chances.
