So I feel I am in a situation where I could either be on my way to a great career or not be able to advance at all and be 30 and trying to start all over again and trying to find a whole new career path and that for various reasons I may not be able to complete that. I am worried now of being in a situation where I will be either stuck with no jobs for years on end or being forced to live with certain relatives and unable to function alone (I have now officially living alone for 7 years but it was in a situation where the support I have been given will end within one year).

I feel I am having very hard times being able to form networks and connect with the right groups and fight the right support systems of communities of people who can truly help and be able to function properly and I fear I will end up as one of those types from the younger generation that older people love to attack and insult as being unproductive dirtbags and the cause of our nation's failure.

So it is a very frightening time and just letting it out here could help. And maybe some virtual hugs from WP friends could help too, perhaps.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

You should pursue that doctorate/post doctorate. I don't recall, at the moment, precisely what you're getting your doctorate in.

If you live with relatives, it ain't no shame to be pursuing a doctorate. If they try to shame you, tell 'em to shove it (in your mind).

I am pursuing it to the absolute best of my abilities. I still have fears of whether or not my ASD might be severe enough to prevent me from being able to tackle any crisis that come up and so I am in a situation where I am unemployed and living with relatives, ending up the embodiment of what old people refer to when they talk of useless wastes of life. On internet forums I read these complaints everywhere and think "Wow, I have been one of these people the older generations complain about and I could really become exactly like these kids the older folks complain about".

Truthfully: Has your ASD been severe enough for you not to have succeeded in your doctoral studies over the past seven years?

I'm in a similar situation and I understand these feelings. I can't help you with specific advice but I can give some general feedback. I know how hard it is to cope when you are constantly comparing yourself with others.

However you could try to be more rational here. You can't just label yourself a complete failure. This is black and white thinking which is not unusual for those on the spectrum or not on it. You have been living alone and coping with life. That is something to be proud of. Don't internalise the negative generalisations you read about. You don't have to work to contribute. Some people can't work due to their condition whether physical, psychological or neurological. Would you label them in such a harsh way? Probably not.
