Does anyone here feel like wanting to escape the whole time?...Only you do not know what you're escaping from and where to go. Maybe it's just another abnormality of mine but I do feel this since childhood. It's not like Im being abused or used in our home or anything. I always feel like i dont belong here and I dont know where Im supposed to go.

Have you ever tried spending some time alone in a natural setting? Like a forest or even a park? I can recommend it.

Yeah. I feel it.

It's not a want to escape though. It's more like longing for a home. I often think "I want to go home!" despite the fact I am physically in my house. I don't know where my "home" is but i feel I should be there, not in my house or anywhere else in the world.

Btw. "To home." was the very first sentence I ever said. It was the night after we moved from my first house when I was a toddler. :lol:

When 99% of the people around you are nothing like you then it's natural to feel out of place. I'd estimate the vast majority of the people on this forum have felt that way at some point in their life, even if they don't post about it here right now.

Yes. I always feel like I should be elsewhere. when I first got out of college I used to hop on cargo trains and ride for weeks at a time, hopping on and off wherever felt good, but it ultimately never did. It never solved my wanderlust.

Sea-Fever

I must down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by,
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea's face, and a grey dawn breaking.

I must down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

I must down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull's way and the whale's way where the wind's like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over.

Yup. It's constant. Like I'm just not supposed to be here.

I do want to escape. I've spent a lot of years wanting to go far away from the place where I was born, never to go back.

Yes. I don't want to escape all of the time, but over the course of decades, I've felt that very, very often.

When you can create a home for yourself that is decorated to your taste, perhaps that will be where you want to escape to.

Yes. Most things cause me anxiety, and I've build imaginary worlds since I was young.

Yes, I have felt this way, often, throughout my lifetime. Even when things are going quite well.
