I keep doing the lottery but no chance of winning. I keep applying for other jobs but no chance of being hired. So I suppose I'm stuck working where I am til I drop dead.

The supervisor at work runs us workers down, says we are useless and should resign. So unprofessional. Now today I got accused of laughing at a new member of staff who can't speak English. I did not laugh at her, because it's not in my nature to laugh at people. All I was doing was just doing my work when another worker came upto me and said to me that she saw this new person doing something the wrong way, and that she went to tell the new lady but she obviously couldn't understand, so another worker who also saw went to find a member of staff who speaks the same language as the new person to help her out. The colleague who came upto me to tell me all this is a very cheerful person, so when she's talking she tends to smile a lot and laugh inappropriately. I didn't know exactly what had happened because I was too busy doing my work, but as this colleague was talking to me I found myself smiling because I always do when she's talking, because she's a cheerful person.

But apparently a few people saw me and my coworker "laughing at this new foreign worker's mistake" and told management, which resulted in the cheery coworker being told off about it yesterday and me being told off today because I weren't there yesterday.
I tried to explain that I was not laughing at all, but they still gave me a 10 minute lecture on how I mustn't treat new staff like that.

I feel f*****g angry and I feel like just walking out. But I can't walk out because I won't find another job again because of how overpopulated this country is and how even more overpopulated it's going to be with all these refugees coming over here. We're a tiny island compared to USA and Australia, but no you don't see them taking them in.

Sorry, back on topic about work. I wish I was rich and would never have to work again, if this is the sort of s**t you get in most workplaces.

I'm sorry that this is happening. I was in a similar situation before.
Couldn't leave. People misunderstanding me...

Hope your supervisor gets fired or you can find something else soon.

You're far too intelligent for your job Joe. Go back to school and get yourself an education and then go back and tell your former supervisors what they can do with their job.

Ever thought about leaving that island if you could? There wasn't a lot of opportunity where I was born either, I moved somewhere better altho it's not like I am able to take advantage of it. Hopefully you get lucky and find another job soon.
