Hello, fine ladies and gentlemen.

I am sort of an old-fashioned romantic, and would like nothing more in life than to find a sweet woman to cuddle and make feel loved and adored. But I feel like this kind of thinking is... a relic of a bygone age. I have really good intentions - part of how I judge my success in life is by how well I treat others, and would love to have a woman in my life who I can adore and spoil.

Have I just been born in the wrong time period? Is there any room, any hope, for men like me in this era?

There are still women out there with the old mindset in regards to dating and relationships. I know where you are coming from. I have thought several times that I would have more success in dating if I was born in 1800s England. Sadly we are stuck here. Don't give up you will find someone who will be swept off their feet by you old school habits. Or she will find you. Either way be patient and confident in yourself. Im still looking for someone to be with.

I'm sort of an old-fashioned romantic myself.

At least it isn't just me! So how has that worked for you? Any tips for a fellow anachronism?

I'm a old fashioned romantic myself, something a lot of women have laughed at me about.

My ex girlfriend spend quite a long time convincing me true love and romance don't exist and I set myself up for failure dreaming of those things.

There are many people who think about the topic as you do, the others are only more audible.

It may just be rose colored glasses, I doubt things would be any better or even that different in an earlier age. I'd probably be way more isolated, maybe people were better I dunno it seems like technology and common knowledge can change but the attitudes don't. The people back then are the people that made society today so really how good can it be?

But yea, love and all that stuff... I don't think its something that is dead, it's just denied to most of us. There is no point, it's just whatever... :|

Can I be happy without that is the question

I don't find that funny; rather, it's sweet and endearing.

Well, did you end up believing her? I hope that you didn't, and that you remain steadfast in your dreams and desires.

Well I feel more pragmatic about it, it's never happened to me and I've never seen it work in real ice, so to an extent she did convince me to be more realistic about relationships.
