Aspie in need of a place to live- on a budget
Hello, I am an aspie in the Seattle/Tacoma area of Washington. Long story short, when I moved up here at the beginning of the year I rented a room from a person who turned out to be a scam artist renting out a foreclosed property without telling us and taking our money. when we found out he tried talking his way out of it and kept telling us we still had to pay him. After everything hit the fan he kept trying to intimidate and bully me and the other guy who was standing up to him and not only refused to give back our deposits but tried suing us (especially me).
Now I have just over two weeks to find a new place to live but the biggest problem is that my job gives me so few hours that no apartment that I can afford (barely) will let me in, and I don't qualify for low income housing (ironic, right). I am more than willing to just rent a room, but I am a bit leery of just getting one off craigslist again. The fact that I mostly keep to myself (classic aspie trait) also makes it a bit difficult to find a match for a room for rent. I don't mind doing stuff with others (I love playing all kinds of games and watching movies with others) but there are a lot of times I just prefer solitude.
If anyone can help with finding a decent low-budget place (preferably around Federal Way, but anywhere where my car doesn't have to worry about being broken into on a nightly basis) or a decent full time job I would be most grateful.
I am kind of up against a wall and at the end of my rope on this one.
Thanks for any help.
