Even though I am not trying to let it steal my joy or ruin my Christmas but this is a very sensitive time of year. Not only do I not really get along with most of my family I was hurt really bad two Christmases ago. This was when a "Friend" and her husband included at Christmas Dinner on Christmas day along with her side of the family. While I was there she seemed fine. It was while she was over at my house one week later for New Year's Brunch that I she made the 180. All of a sudden we were not a good fit for each other and that we would bring out the negative in each other.

Yes it's two years ago and I enjoy my current friends otherwise but this is one more burden. I am still very angry about what happened.

Things like this happen sometimes and sometimes the best thing to do is to simply not think about such things and move on. As you've said you have other friends now and your focus should be on them rather than holding a grudge from the past. It can be hard I know, there are plenty of situations from my past that piss me off the moment I think about them, but it's best not to waste time on such things. Accept that you've moved on and you'll have a better disposition and be in a better place to have a good time this Christmas because of it.

What would you like to see happen at this point? Do you want the former friend to apologize to you?

Oh you bet. She and her husband came into my home on Jan 1, 2014 and were extremely ungrateful and stuck up. They were very curt and made complete fools out of themselves by making a scene in front of my other guests.

I did try to talk with her a year and a half later, which was in June. All she did was complain that I wrote about her and her husband on facebook in a hinting form. "I have parties for people to enjoy themselves and not come over and act like stuck up 13 year olds." She said "That's the straw that broke the camel's back." She also gave me these silly excuses about why we can't be friends based on "Age" and " Interest" differences and along with her husband forbidding us to be friends because I kept getting mad at her. I asked if she was the one who didn't like me and got got really quiet.

Every since she's met her husband she's been very upstart and therefore has thought she is better than I am.

Tell them to go away & stay there.

I should not have said those things on facebook but rather have called them on the phone and said that if they felt that strongly then they were not allowed to come over anymore since they had lost that privilege.

Anyone who makes a big deal about age and interest difference like that is a good example of how stuck up one has gotten. She is a 11 years older than I am and has been acting like a 5th grader whose in her own little world. What I also notice about her is that she thinks she's the only person right now with a disability who walks that planet who can get married while the rest can't.

I feel really sorry for her.

They were probably trying to lord their money over your other guests or something. Not to mention each other, any guy who thinks he can pick & choose another person's friends has another thing coming. Probably a sandwich of knuckles if I had to guess.

They don't have any money and don't have the kinds of jobs which allow for that. His parents do and he is very spoiled as and coddled as a result. He is also the bit of a know it all and has been very rude to my other friends. Before they got married he was very sweet and accepting of everyone. After he tied the knot he's turned out to be a real jerk. My other friend can't stand him.

One of them told me after the rejection that he was very "Cranky and rude"

Strange... Seems he'll either burn himself out & try to make amends or end up divorced. Unless they're both deadly-serious materialists.

I have been working through it in a healthy manner even though I am very angry with her. I discovered that I am not in control of their own actions. Bottom line, they are two very unhappy people who like to make others feel sorry for them because they don't know what to do with their own lives and have to make others feel bad as a result. You know what though? That's not my problem.

Well they don't have to do that to anyone. Just keep your head above it and stick around other friends for a while, one or both of them will probably come around eventually unless they really are a perfect match made in hell. People can only paint themselves into corners to a certain threshold, at which point most people are far more receptive to being called out on their BS.

Unfortunately that comes along with being an unhappy person which both of them are. Even before she got married she's never been a very happy person with a serious case of insecurity along with always being green-eyed towards me for various reasons. By virtue of the matter I often had a very hard time having a conversation with her. They often went down-hill really fast.

Like I ever since she got married she's extremely egotistical and seemed to over-use the word "Assertive" in her vocabulary. While she needed to work on that, the way she said it was in a very condescending manner. She also started talking down to me like I am lower functioning than she is.

EG- A few years ago she, her husband and I were at a house warming party for another friend with Asperger's Syndrome as well. I commented that I really thought his new place was nice. She replied with a phony front "This is a nice place huh."

With those thought patterns they'll probably need to materially relinquish quite a lot, at which point I guess at least one of them will catch on that there's nothing better to do with their life than to serve happiness.

The worst part of the whole rejection scenario is that it not only happened during the holidays but also when I needed her the most. For one thing I had been looking for a job and rather than continue to be there for me, she kicked me when I was down.
