Friendships
Why is it that friends can break their promise to you or have better things to do than hang out with you? This happened to me all my life, I sooo sick of it! It wasn't only friends, it were people that talk to you that was almost your friend or feel like a little bit of friendship. This happened in my relationships too with my dad & my sister, she NEVER wanted to hangout with me, she always had better things to do than hangout with her little sister, it felt like she didn't want a little sister. When I was a child, she got jealous, our parents spend more time with me than her, it wasn't my fault I was born with Cerebral Palsy & got Psoriasis when I was 6 years old, it feels like she still holding a grudge that is over 40 years old. She didn't fully forgive our mom until she was dying, I hate crying! I'm crying now. It feels like she is punishing me. That why I hate her!
Kitty,
C'mon, let it all out. Crying may not change anything, but you will feel better for it.
Why are people so mean? I wish I knew. People have been mean to me all of my life, too. Family members who would rather get drunk or stoned than spend any quality time with me are the worst; "Friends" who are too busy for me unless they want something from me are not much better; and co-workers who never invite me to join them for lunch so that I'm left behind to "Mind the Shop" for them really reek.
Grudges aren't easily broken unless the object of the grudge admits to the fault and apologizes for it. My "friends" and relatives all turned their collective backs on me when I needed help with finding a job and a place to live, and that was more than twenty-five years ago! To this day, none of them will admit to even knowing of my troubles, in spite of the fact that I literally begged most of them for help.
The only thing that keeps me from submerging in self-pity is having reduced my expectations for humanity in general - I expect only the worst from people. Making my own way has coincidentally become easier - I owe none of my success to anyone except God, my wife, and myself (in that order).
I hope things get better for you.
