I've realised that my anxiety disorder makes me a boring person.

-I'm afraid to drive
-I'm afraid of the general public
-I'm afraid of a new job
-I'm afraid of sex and smear tests
-I'm afraid of getting my head under the water
-I'm afraid of getting drunk
-I'm afraid of travelling because I get travel sickness
-I'm afraid of being up too late

It's a wonder I've got a boyfriend. Is there anyone else here who is anxious of so many things what is supposed to make a person "fun"? What will I do?

I'm the same tbh, probably even worse. Have you tried medication? It might just help.

I am on medication, it does work for depression and anger but not so much anxiety. Well I get depressed because of the things I'm unable to do due to anxiety, but the medication helps with other sorts of depression I used to suffer with.

I anticipate too much. I can't help it. Telling me to distract my thoughts or force myself to think differently is not helpful. I have a low threshold for pain so it looks like I've just got to live with it.

On the plus side, I have not broken any bones before....

I was actually prescribed sertraline years ago for anxiety, didn't help.

I suggest CBT. There are some god book on it. I can give you links if you like.

You type of anxiety you describe, sounds like General Anxiety. I can relate a bit but also Social Anxiety.

Joe, you have anxiety about whether you are fun enough or cool enough.

Talk to your prescriber about the fact that your meds help your depression but are not helping your anxiety. Anxiety can be as disabling as depression, if not more so.

Good luck, Kiddo.

I would try other options first.

Quite a lot of behavior are learnt. It can be a combination of learnt and neurology. If you can do something about it, then it is way better than drugs. Or drugs alone.

Most of these drug are simply trial and error. You are a guinea pig. They ask you if it gets worse becuase that is a distinct possibility with a drug.
