Why can't people just leave me alone?
Kevin, I recently reconnected with a h.s. friend on Facebook. I enjoy his posts, we share a sense of humor.
But when he suggested getting together (not in a dating way, just "old friends"), my feeling was, "Why?"
It just felt too stressful for me. We're in different states, it would mean travel to meet in the middle ... travel is hard for me, I have a physical disability ... I hope he doesn't feel hurt but I declined.
I don't really understand that impulse either, but I assume it's "normal" and my view is "not normal." (Yawn.) So what else is new.

I guess he wants to relive his youth. Or he's lonely, and looking for friends.
I've wanted to get together with people I used to know a long time ago.
I found my first lover on Facebook, about 30 years after I saw her last. She was going to go to MIT. She ended up being an artist. I'm just too shy to propose we get together.
If you don't want to see the guy, just continue to say "no." But be a nice guy about it.
