Erotomania and Personality Disorders
I can't tell if I have a personality disorder or if its just my asperger's. I have a lot of the symptoms of personality disorders, but I've never been diagnosed with any. I'm so confused, angry and SICK of asking "WHY?" about everything when it comes to the way I am. I am almost certain I had erotomania for 8 years of my life. Yet I've never been diagnosed with it or have ever heard of it until recently. I feel so failed. I used to believe that someone (famous person) was in love with me, not able to get that thought out of my head, but I had met them at their concert, and I based my life around going to see them at every concert I could so that I could meet them again in hopes of someday marrying them. I am no longer like that, but like I said I had spent 8 years of my life that way. I found this information:
What is Erotomania?
This disorder is a form of stalking. The erotomaniac will not stalk just anyone. They focus their attention on someone in high social or financial standing. Quite often the object of the erotomaniac's obsession is a celebrity. Erotomania can be described as an imaginary and obsessive romantic interest in a stranger. In most cases they have never even met the victim. Thoughts of the victim tend to fill the daily thoughts of the affected. This goes far beyond normal daydreams and fantasies. Their mind spends a lot of time fabricating a relationship in great detail that simply does not exist. This type of person will justify just about any behavior they find themselves acting out. They often believe their victim to be stuck in a loveless relationship and they need to be rescued. This is not just a fantasy to the erotomaniac; it is their reality.

Hmmm. If it was this, it was fairly mild. You only went to concerts, yes? Not to their homes/hotels? If you had this, I'd say it was mild, compared to other cases of erotomania. I'd say there are quite a few people who fall into mild erotomania, and haven't actually caused any problem, per se. It could just be a subset of Asperger's....

I went to their hotel once but with a group of other fans, and didn't stay long. I agree though now that I think about it more. I think it was just mild or my obsession/special interest due to aspergers.
