That's how I felt when the Columbine massacre happened.

My History class was talking about that today. I read that they were bullied, but then I saw a commercial for an hour-long special on it. Someone was being interviewed and he was saying how it was false that the two boys were being bullied.

Well, it's hard to reassure as you can't be sure these things aren't going to happen but..

Remember, bad stuff happens in the world. There are some things in life we have control over and some we don't. Take control of the things in your life you can and let go of those you can't. It is very sad for those who died and also strangely sad for the young man that was so troubled, but again, there is nothing that can be done about it now, so let it go...

Could it be the first time you realize that there are no guarantees? There's really no way that we can be absolutely sure that we're safe. We might have felt safe as children, but that was based on the omnipotence of parents, which is an idea we have to let go of, usually in our early teens. Of course, in a decent world it wouldn't come as a result of an unspeakable act of violence.

Back around then, I tended to get alot of strange and bad looks because I was... well... Me.

Because you are human, you have feelings, it was a very bad thing to happen anywhere ever, a lot of innocent people died.

You should feel for them, morn, share the sorrow of their family and friends. It is the right way to feel.

It will pass, slowly, but life has sorrow and joy, mostly joy.

You are not alone in being touched by history.

Just covering up for the school, I would
guess. Every one of us has probably seen
the extent to which bullying can get. I know
that when I first heard of the Columbine shootings
I felt a definite sense of empathy with the shooters.
Long before it happened, I was considering similar
solutions.

Might have happened, if I had been a little LESS
violent. My violence eventually scared most of
my tormentors away.

If it makes you feel better I was worse than both of you. I was happy when Columbine happened because when it did that was exactly what I wanted to do to the school I was going to at the time.

I still scoff when I hear about "all the innocent people who died." Who the hell really knew if they were innocent? They very well might've deserved it. A life filled with nothing but rejection has made me extremely misanthropic, I don't care anymore.
