Frustrated by Hypocrisy - Beware of Rant

I am so ****ing tired of the hypocrisy of judgmental people. I have in mind my 21 year old son, but I've experienced many more people like this.

Certain judgmental people will jump my case (scold me in a disdainful way) for saying something that is what "they" consider socially inappropriate. Yet, they consider it OK that THEY have just been mean and condemning towards me!! This is SO unfair. Why is it OK for people to be mean and sarcastic, but NOT ok for me to have social awkwardness?? I'd love to confront my son on this matter, but his girlfriend is visiting with us, and I don't want us to have a big fight while she is here. He knows I have AS/HFA. I know, he is being immature, but if you think about it, it's ridiculous.

I already went ahead and confronted him when his girlfriend wasn't around.

So how did the confrontation go?

It was so so. He didn't apologize, but at least I said what I had to say. I decided to work on just diffusing his mean remarks, and not reacting.
