This really isn't an ASD issue, but this is a community of people I "know".

I'm in intense, intense pain. I'm weaning of prednisone. I can barely stand the pain. If I thought an ER could help me, I'd call 911. But, my problems are so weird. The last time I went to the ER, I had to educate every person I saw about the conditions that I have. That's fine. At that time, I knew what was wrong (a rib popped out and I couldn't get it back in, usually I can).

But, I'm still waiting to find out exactly what is wrong with my head. It's pretty likely that at a minimum, I'll need minor brain surgery for a shunt. More involved, I may need decompression for some other issues.

My point is...the ER can't really help me.

I think I'll just drink as much wine as I can get my hands on...

If you are in a medical marijuana state perhaps research it for pain relief.

I am not in a state where it's legal.

I have used it though, it does help, but I'm out.

...and the fact that I have used it is another reason I stay away from ERs.

My husband brought me some Sangria in a sippy cup.

I think I'll keep him.

Sorry to hear you are in so much pain. I think my body magnifies pain compared to other people. Last night I couldn't sleep because of the pain from a blister on my hand. I have found local ERs to be useless for anything major or unusual. I live four hours away from the Mayo Clinic in AZ. There are also ones in FL and MN. If any of those are a possibility for you, I'd recommend it.

Airplane is literally what I'm watching right now.

A little. But, I'm probably not making it out of bed today.

Weaning of predisone is not for that faint of heart.

On to Airplane II

I don't know how much longer I can manage the pain though.

Through everything I've had, I always wish someone would have just hospitalized me. I'd probably get better pain management and better/more prompt care then. I need more normal health problems.

There are THREE Ehlers-Danlos specialists in the entire country. 3.

What sort of pain medication are you prescribed?

I'm currently weaning of prednisone.

I take Lyrica, brintellix, clonazepam, and aspirin.

Sometimes I'm given opioids, but I'm out now. And sometimes I get flexiril (muscle relaxer) to relocate my own joints (saves an ER trip).

Are you saving the "heavy artillery" for when the pain gets really severe?

Couldn't you call your doctor on the weekends--maybe the doctor could prescribe something which offsets the withdrawal symptoms?
