I know how to offer support to others, but, I am unable to ask for it.
I have never imagined having the courage to write, here.
I have faced some hardships in recent weeks.
I feel sad and I am grieving profound loss.
You don't have to respond.
I just wanted to say it.
I feel so wrong for that.
I don't see others as wrong, for expressing themselves, here.
I admire and envy that ability_
I rarely feel down.
I've been ruminating, continuously.
I've been swimming and that has been helping.
I have a hard time falling asleep.
The hardest time is at night when I am home.
I manage well enough at work, as my mind stays consistently, occupied.
Initially, I could not focus on my work.
So, I must be recovering.
Thank you_

Hi Britte and ((hugs))
I'm sorry to read this, what has happened?

It can be a regular experience for me to be unable to talk about a difficulty. I've often replied to threads in the Haven as a way of starting to come to terms with whatever was causing me upset, but lacked the words to communicate about my own problems.

I can understand not being great at asking for help too, help is often conditional and I've enough to deal with without adding social fulfilment to the mix. The Haven doesn't come with those strings attached :) .

Hi Britte,

Sorry that you feel this way.

I'm glad you're swimming, and that you are able to distract yourself through work.

If you should feel like PMing me I would try to see if I could provide some solace.

I understand that it's hard for you to talk about. But if you could give us more details about your hardships, it is easier for us to give you back support.

I'm sorry you are going through a hard time. But look at this - even though you couldn't imagine writing here in the forum and asking for support, you did it anyway! That's optimistic, right there!

Best wishes, Bea

Grief in its dofferent guises can be all encompassing, it's good that you get headspace breaks from it.
It is healthier to release these things, maybe taking one slow step at a time is best for you at the moment.

Thank you. I apologize, as it was wrong for me to generate this post. I feel that I am being extremely disrespectful, because, you are here wanting to support me, and I can't talk about myself. It takes me ages to open up to people I am familiar with, so, I was aware of the possibility that I might not have the ability to talk about myself, here, so, in the end it was selfish of me to write, here. I am at work and I am not functioning to the best of my ability, due to the level of anxiety that I am feeling, as the result of this post. Although, I just read a response from alex to a member who had requested that her post be deleted, and he told her that it cannot be, so, all I know to do, is to express my gratitude for your kindness towards me. Thank you.

Hey Britte,

That's what the Haven is for!

That's its raison d'etre

Have you ever felt cathartic after releasing your sorrow?

There's no disrespect in reaching out.

Britte, don't go away!

You are sure hard on yourself. I'm sorry you are having a hard time at work.

Don't give up on WrongPlanet. You might find some good friendship and advice here.

You just did ask for support, in this way of coming out here, and I won't push, or ask a bunch of questions, but I will say that I have a strong feeling of what might be going on, and would like to help, so feel free to PM me, if you would like to talk.

A couple months ago, I made a post that was a dumb joke on what I realized later was a more serious thread; I felt bad/guilty, feeling like I'd overstepped a boundary or something like that. I always have been nervous to see what replies I get on forums, too. Even in real life, it can be hard to have let something out, knowing it can't be taken back/put back in.

Just commenting that I know what it can feel like.

Best wishes with everything.
