I'm out of practice. This will be unmetered and unrhymed.

Going out in the world, adjusting to the blinding light,

one is, nevertheless, free from the stifling cocoon.

Soon, one realizes that looking up at the sky

can be just as advantageous

as looking for cracks in the pavement.

For there are many axes up there whose intentions you must discern

Some will be fine editors for your thoughts;

others will lop off your head if you're not careful.

How does one determine which one is which?

That's the quandary we, who have difficulty interpreting intentions, face.

Thanks.

It reminds me of the "cartoons" which artist use when they are creating paintings.

I haven't written much in years.

You're a sweet woman, Mazorati.

Why do I think you might be like the Little Old Lady from Pasadena?

The most damage that can be inflicted on trolls, tools and other indelicate WrongPlanet.net users is ignoring them. At a basic level, they thrive on the kind of attention that most cats achieve when they defecate in the very middle of their human caretaker's bed. Rob the indelicate users of any attention, and they end up leaving.

My fault is seeing such online behaviors worthy of being ignored by responding in defense of others. I guess one of my roles is serving as a rodeo clown to distract the hostile away from the innocent. I am a legalistic lobbyist by profession, and I can be withering and relentless. 'Nuff said.

One good thing: once you disinfect, feces generally doesn't leave a stain.

That's why it's good to ignore; otherwise, the stain becomes indelible.

Nice work kraftie -- I can already hear a bit of melody for this!

AspieUtah -- SO true!! Not giving attention to the trolling person attempting to get at you is like depriving of oxygen, withholding fuel...I need to remind myself of this. I think a Post-It note stuck on my screen is in order -- serious.

It's fair, because you're creating the music as well as modifying the lyrics.

Would you sing in a coffeehouse again?

I bet, one you modify it, that it will come out great!

Bring it on!

Hey we're starting a band -- and now here I already have a percussionist in Uncle!

To kraftie, with the coffeehouses, to be serious, eeehhhhhhhh I dunno. It has crossed my mind at times....but then I remember the things I didn't like about when I did that. There's an annual local festival that's just been and gone actually, and each year they ask for local acts. I miiiiiiiiight think about a one-off for that, one of these years. :? I'd be so rusty though, at the whole thing. It can be terrifying.
