Dear sir/madam,

This is Mathew. Single male with high functioning Autism and hearing loss at age of 25. I have two major academic degrees. I am severely unemployed and being overlooked human being. I want to express you my concerns.

Personally I am currently struggling in my life because I couldn't get opportunities to get involved in the society. The social society stigma places on my hearing loss and Autism because its where people refuse to listen and understand me and my concerns. I have been contacting several organisations, counselors and other people about my concerns. No solutions that make me better at all, but the direction is heading downward spirals.

I am struggling to get my disability awareness to be heard. I am struggling to get a paid employment after I have done two academic degrees with GPA of 6 for my Masters degree which is highly scholar. I supposed to have a job by now. I have applied 1,055 jobs, volunteer roles, internships, temp roles and related positions since September 2013. I only landed one paid 3 month internship job which that ended September last year. I am severely overlooked human being in Australia.

I can't see how possible to get me elected to anything, like I always see being a board member will help my awareness and position, and furthermore it will help millions of other people in same situation who doesn't have confidence and motivation like I am right now. I am living in a terrible luck of life where I don't get opportunities that make me happy, enjoyable and straight-forward.

Please give me a chance. Its something I have been looking for very long time. My mental health is growing concern because of lack of empathy and consistent rejections pushing pressure on my lifestyle. I rarely get anything that what I wanted to do during the day in a week. I am always at home doing nothing, but looking for thousands of opportunities over the internet and contacting several hundreds of organisations, businesses and community groups to get a paid employment and role position to make my life busy, enjoyable, passionate, inspiring, strong hearted and happier.

Please help me to find this, and this is what I always wanted since September 2013. I want my name to be out there. I want to be known as passionate, inspiring, motivated and strong hearted person. I want people to know that.

Can't wait to hear form you very soon.

Oh wow, how frustrating! :( Have you tried any classes from the local unemployment or vocational rehab offices? What were they like?

What do the career advisers at your universities say?

I admire your perseverance. :star:

Congratulations on your perseverance. I'm not Australian so can't make any concrete suggestions (am South African) but wish you all the best that you'll find some suitable role where you can feel fulfilled.

Surely there's someone who will give you a chance!

I have found success in self employment. It took a few attempts though. Perhaps this is an option?

I wonder, if you wrote to Tony Attwood, if he might be able to suggest someone who could walk beside you in your quest and provide that valuable support we all need when we are being marginalised. You have been doubly marginalised, and going it alone would be too tough for me. You must have enormous strength, though even the strongest of us need allies sometimes; your strengths and another person's strengths combined may be the start of the solution to this. Well done for your achievements, I feel humbled in comparison.
