This is something which has been dominating my thoughts for the past 10 minutes and has made me anxious. But say something out of the blue and threatening happens, is it responsible in many cases for the individual to remain completely frozen in a state of panic and fear?

This has been concerning to me. I wonder that should I be confronted by that situation I real life, is it possible that I would just freeze up?

Yes - the standard human reactions to adversity are fight, flight and freeze.

try not to be a visible witness, find concealment/cover with an escape path, if you have a phone call 911 from that point while maintaining cover/concealment. avoid heroics. protect yourself first while reporting the incident.

None of us can know how we will react in a situation. Try to just trust yourself and not worry about it.

Its not a massive deal. I am not thinking much about it now even. Its just that thought of being vulnerable in those situations which is scary.

thank you but the main reason i'm vigilant is because i'm low man on the totem pole, always watching out for others who would knock me out.

That he is. If I had to deal with people trying to knock me out all the time I'd be dead by now.
