They keep pushing me to do credit cards now it seems likely they scheduled me for 5 hours tomorrow to push for credit cards at the front door. I need to ask for accommodation but then their see me as a freak :( and hate me for being disabled and on ssi.

I'm going use my last sick day and call out tomorrow saying I have a family emergency, if they try to stick me at greeting I'll have a panic attack and just leave work. I'm already freaking out just thinking about it

I just wanna be left alone up there to organize and help customers in the clearance area.

I know firsthand that panic attacks are awful. Is there someone you could speak with at work in private to find out about the accommodation? It's better than using up your sick days. Good luck.

I have to submit an written letter requesting accommodation or they could say we never talked and fire me for some supposed other reason, though guess they could just shrewd the paper and do so too :s

They can hardly find people to work up there as is i dont know why they push this it's like shooting them selves in the foot

I used my last sick day today :( I can't get sick for the next 4 months now or I'll be fired.
It's so inhuman

That makes sense about the written letter, especially if you think they might be hostile to the idea. I'm not sure what you're going to ask for, are you going to say that you are unable to greet customers?

I can greet customers. It's since they hired me they made getting people to get credit cards a requirement to working. They expect me to pressure everyone who walks in to sign up from credit card they don't want or can't handle. I can't do that it overloads me and cause me to shut Down.

I greet customers by saying hi then am able to do stuff and relax before someone else comes in. I also assist them with questions about products.

So really it's just be them not pushing me to get credit card approvals . The people who get them tend to be cashiers and they get 200-800 each. I really don't see what good comes from stressing out your employees in a hard to maintain employment area of your store :(

What do you mean? What is it about the credit card pitch that pushes you over the edge, versus answering customer questions? Are you concerned about putting pressure on them? If so, can you fulfill your obligation with a quick offer of the card and be done with it?

They don't want one and get angry. And there there's the legal fines from misleadinf(not stating the card info 100% correct), presumed discrimination from not asking every single person. And when they tell us no we have to keep pushing them u til they say yes then escort them to the booth(though I can't leave my area).
It's social overload for me. Also no we have to get approved cards not just ask people. The store has to have a set number a year and a day and have to have certain number per transactions. Mean what happens when everyone who shops there has one how do they keep that up.

I can't handle it I shut down and stop talking to anyone :( and I had panic attacks thinking about being forced to do it at the stores main door .

Maybe I should just quit :( I'm such a fail, I should be normal like other people
I just thought I found job I could do and work 15-20 hours. It has some social interactions it not overwhelming since only a fraction of customers go up to the clearance area :(

Thanks
Today was bad, my crush was there and she's always around other people so I can't ever talk to her.

I turned in the request and now I just wait and see what happens tomorrow:s

Guess if they fire me atleat I won't be stressed out all the time, just more depressed like use to be

How unpleasant, having to ram credit card offers down people's throats. :( Maybe it's time to search for another job? Good luck tomorrow anyhow.

Indeed, unfortunately most if not all retailers are moving to that. They say people with their card spend more money in their stores. Do people just have 30 credit cards one for every store they shop at. Alto of people are like no thanks I already have few credit cards.

I'm fine with just one, don't see a need to have multiple. Would be too complicated keeping track of what one owes . Course the credit card companies want you to get into debt so they get interest. One big scam. Since I got screwed over when I was 18 and owe 15k or so I only buy what I have money for and pay the card off every month.

Thanks. Didn't hear anything but maybe hr didn't work day before thanksgiving. I work Black Friday but i dont know how long such things take or if I'll even ever hear anything
