I'm not new here but my new identity is new. I stopped participating in all forums for years because a counsellor was stalking me on them. He didn't attempt to hide it either because he'd ask about the personal stuff I shared, particularly from Wrong Planet and the women's, adult and relationship discussions. I felt violated by him and ran away from here and his therapy. I was suicidal at the time and it felt like a gross breach of confidence.
Communities, like Wrong Planet, are essential for those of us with social anxiety and a great place to learn from peers and share our experiences. That is why I am back. Plus, I want to do more to help Asperger women in Australia and this is a stepping stone.

I like your screen name. It's a moon of Uranus, I believe.

Therapists often have their own issues which is why they picked the job in the first place. By "fixing" other people they fix themselves. It gives them a sense of power and confidence because to do that they must not need fixing. That's my opinion anyway from some of the ones I have encountered. Although I have known some good ones too.

I hope this person is still not practicing. Who knows what damage they could be doing.

Hi Kraftiekortie
Yes, you are correct. Also Tethys Sea in the time of Gondwana and Laurasia as well as the mythological Titan goddess, wife of Oceanis, daughter of Uranus and Gaia and the font of Earth's fresh water.
She is a lesser known mythological character.

I think that is true for some. I have worked closely with a few on different occasions (not as a client) who are in denial of their own struggles with mental illness but are constantly swinging from attack to defense, undermining their progress and hurting those trying to be friends and support.

Fortunately I have also worked alongside many who know their weaknesses and use what they have learnt on their personal journey and their vulnerability to compassionately and ethically guide clients to health and strength.

The stalking counsellor left that center soon after and joined a programme helping vets. I hope he didn't stalk them too.

I hope you reported the therapist to his boss and respective licensing board. Unfortunately it often falls on the patient to alert a licencing board to mental health issues, substance abuse problems, or unethical behavior by a doctor or practitioner, because the boards, at least in the U.S. don't have a way to monitor this themselves.
