Toxic people
My crazy uncle is threatening to take my car and he could do it because its in his name. This will ruin my job. My uncle also wont let my family buy the property, letting the property we live on foreclose and not letting people help us move.
Family fighting... Cant stand this... Suggestions?

Rent a place near your work within walking distance and abandon your uncle. He clearly is a toxic person that doesn't give a crap what happens to his family so why should you give a crap what happens to him?

Work involves use of personal vehicle to perform bird surveys along roads (reimbursement for gas). No personal vehicle means I would have to give up job.

Can you not just drive a moped or something then? Surely if you're working you could just buy a new car? It doesn't have to be fancy or anything as long as it does the job.

Agreed - even a loan to afford a new car if your income can't cover it, or a bike as suggested above, seems preferable to me than letting someone like that control you. I've some experience with these types, too, and that's what they're after usually. Control. It's best to take that away from them and only associate when you are on equal terms.

I got the car now... But we've been evicted from this property and he keeps trying to convince us to stay saying the letter is fake and screamed at me for telling him about the letter and made me apologize for fighting with him and threatening me saying he'll never help me again if i disagree with him... And also his sister is trying to find us a place to stay and he told her that we were mentally unable to take care of ourselves and she needed to find an assisted living facility (um... We took care of ourselves for years before we moved in with uncle)
I dont know what to do now.

We got extremely close to being homeless... But another uncle is taking us in for awhile. He cant stand his brother... I dont see this uncle much, but last time I saw him he was really kind so I hope that trend continues. They rent out rooms but they dont have one empty so we have to purchase an air matress and sleep in their living room.
Anyway my husband got to his breaking point and called the uncle who used to live here and cussed him out and now uncle is trying to use that as an excuse not to pay me 60 dollars for paying his and his grandsons cell phone bills on the same bill as mine. Last couple of months he just plain didnt pay. Im not obama phone!! ! Counting up money i gave him that he used for something other than the bills it was for and money he didnt give me... He probably should give me 500 dollars.

Your uncle is a toxic person. For your own good, it's time to cut off all contact. Forget the money he owes you. Without written documentation that he owes you the money, you have no way to get it back, so just do yourself a favor, and move on. Just remember to take him and his son off your phone plan, immediately. Get a no frills, used car, with a loan if necessary, or use a bike. Go to the local state assistance office for help with paying bills, and for food stamps, to tide you and your husband over until you can manage on your own again. They may be able to help you find a place to stay also, but that last is kind of iffy. Every state has a long waiting list for section 8 housing. There is another alternative to try for short term help. The Salvation Army runs shelters, but usually have a time limit for how long you can stay, and they have a curfew--if you are not in by a certain time at night, you lose your bed there. The duration of staying, and the curfew time varies some from one Salvation Army shelter to the next. They also expect you to either have a job, or be trying to get one. I had to stay at one for a month once, during a bad time in my life. The limit for that shelter was for a month stay. By the time the month was up, some relatives had found me another temporary place to stay, and several months after that, they had managed to buy me a trailer home near where they live. The rules at the Salvation Army shelters are strict, but that's to keep trouble to a minimum. Their shelters are clean, and in good shape, so they are a safe place to stay. In my case, once I moved a state away, and into the trailer home, I was able to apply for temporary assistance while going through the process to qualify for disability. I have been living in the trailer for 11 & 1/2 years now, and I pay rent to my relatives out of my govt assistance money. Because of my situation, they are charging me less than the market rate, basically just what it costs them to pay the insurance, the taxes, and the lot fee in the trailer park. Perhaps you and your husband can look into buying or renting a cheap old trailer somewhere.
Good luck with your situation, and remember, cease contact with your toxic uncle.

I do have that job coming up, i just have to make it until then, though its only two month job. I got the car and title, but i dont have money to take it out of his name right now. I dont have a contract on the phones and i found out it costs money to seperate them, so next month thinking about not paying the bill and just getting a different phone.
Oh, we already get food stamps and medicaid in fact my other uncle wouldnt let us stay with him unless we brought food.
