I am so angry I actually couldn't even write this last night. I was falsely ticketed twice by a sociopath, lying cop back in the early spring and thought that court would be the perfect place to get justice. I attended some previous sessions an noted that the judge was fair and impartial in all cases.

Except last night.

I still am in a state of disbelief. I brought photo evidence proving the cop is unreliable at best and a liar at worst. I also discredited his account and showed he had no recollection of the events. The prosecutor was nothing short of a bully who put words into my mouth, made stuff up out of thin air and was overall a jackass. In short, just like one on a TV drama and the kind of person who could have the cops called on him if he acted like that in any other workplace.

In the end, the judge actually had the nerve to call ME a liar and said I had no interest in the truth only in further my own interests at the expense of a veteran police officer. I was nothing short of speechless: of course I am going to defend myself against false accusation! So, my perfect driving record is now permanently ruined by the sole testimony of a lying cop who I proved to be a mistaken at best and I got the shaft.

Am I angry? You bet! If there is any consolation, he deferred the second ticket until next year because he said "I would find you guilty regardless of what you say".

Did you get any "points" from your conviction? How would it affect your insurance rates?

Fight every ticket regardless if you are guilty or not. Good chance the cop either messed up some proceedures and it will get thrown out or the cop wont show up to court and you win by default. There are websites which list a long list of defences you can use to fight tickets depending where you live.

I've beat a number of ridiculous tickets before.

God I'm so sorry this has happened to you. It's just awful and unjust. I'm not surprised it took you a while to be able to post about it. I'd have to retreat for a while after that too. Hopefully your next court date goes better.
