Nobody on this forum should be chastised for venting about NTs. This should be our place. Every now and than someone comes in this site to tell us otherwise.

I think some people are annoyed when someone else puts all the NTs under one label and blames the whole group about things that some NTs someone knows have done... it's the same as an NT would blame all autistic people for something one or two autists he/she knows did. I don't think anyone here would like that.

I've yet to see it said All NT's. However if someone is upset they might say it and not mean it. We just don't need some douchebag correcting people in a condescending way.

People often surf onto this board after having pain inflicted on them. Let them have their therapeutic rant. I suppose none of your have ever been really upset.

Always has to be a few insensitive people in every board telling others how to feel. This shouldn't be that place. ASpartners posters are free to vent their feelings. I don't get butthurt about that. It is their safe place.

I say vent all you want.

But we shouldn't go down to the level of ASPartners. We are above their pettiness.

They aren't petty. It's a therapy group. I'm sure they are merely expressing emotions. We tend to take things too literally. Strangely enough, I am glad they have a safe place to do it.

They are a therapy group. They are venting. That’s true.

But that’s all they’re doing. They’re not seeking to find solutions. Like we are. We’re above the generalizing NTs.

They leave their partners from what I see. Right, we don't want to engender a hateful vibe here....however we do have a few on here who judge someone for expressing frustration. This needs to be a safe place for that. After the venting, the person often is calmer and seeks solutions. That's been my experience working in a rehab facility and previous to that a domestic violence haven. We have to listen and not take everything so literally...I know hard for us but we can't pounce on people for their feelings.

P.S. Krafty- some of the guys talked about on ASpartners are more likely to be sociopaths if anything. My heart goes out to these women who went through abuse from these men. I doubt AS has anything to do with it. Anyhow most NT's are just like us in that they are doing what they can to take care of their families and communities. They aren't out to terrorize. Unfortunately a few do. Again, most however just want to get along and will do what they can.

Yep, the sites for those who are partners of Aspies are alarming. I went on one and was shocked by the bile. I agree with History Gal. Many of the other halves sound like utter sociopaths, rather than on the spectrum. We are difficult to live with, but so are NT's.

Guys, just speaking from my own experience, read up on narcissist-empath relationship dynamics, it's helping me A LOT with understanding my divorce. For a narcissist, someone on the spectrum is an easy target, and especially easy to gaslight. So anyone dating needs to learn how to spot and avoid a narcissist before getting too deep in, especially being on the spectrum.

So after that, from now on, I'm only getting involved with guys who are also highly sensitive.

That's right. Those partners on ASP were rotten sounding. We as well as the NTs are on the same side. We don't want sociopath mates.

LOL yep, we can be difficult to live with but would not terrorize or set your stuff on fire. The women at ASP are just misinformed.

I think everyone should be able to say how they feel as long as its polite and not abusive.

I don't think that anyone should be able to express their opinions, so I shouldn't even be talking right now.
