I feel like I'm heading for another mental breakdown
Everything just seems to be going wrong. I am trying to get into law school, which sounds great, I would be one of the first of my kind, but everything just seems to be going wrong with it because I can't make the past 8 years of my life sound good because I have basically accomplished nothing that didn't immediately go awry and because I also have a TBI everything before that is just a blur, hard to write anything about a blur. So yea, I can't write a personal statement to save my life. I am worried that I will graduate and still be on the outside looking in like I always am. I would love to just be able to get a job without it and that's even what some people are suggesting... but after so many applications over so much time I don't see that getting anywhere (I have a master's in special education but they wouldn't certify me to teach... so yea... that's basically worthless). I am working small time stuff now but all that gets me is more comfortable homelessness (had to finally move back with family leaving a pretty stable but impossible to live on job behind). So yea, I am just endlessly frustrated and I know it won't be long before I snap. Any words of advice...
If you have a Masters degree in ANYTHING you have not "accomplished nothing". You are obviously a smart person. I'm not sure how you can not be a teacher with that kind of education but that's not what this thread is about.
In my opinion there are many employers who will see that alone on a resume and want to hire you. Even if the job has nothing to do with school. You have shown yourself to be an intelligent and dedicated person. This is the kind of person who can be taught other skills. Even if you have not worked in a while. You would not even have to do law school. It's a long stressful process that can put in you in large debt. You can make good money now for less stress and not do that if you want I think. Maybe the nervous breakdown is your mind telling you something. But if that is something you want to do lawyers need to be smart too. And a lawyer is paid well. If you want it then it's worth it I suppose.
TBI=tramatic brain injury? so that's why you don't remember? If so I think that is something you can be honest about and perhaps be given exceptions other people would not have over those time periods. I did not even graduate 4 year college so I know nothing about what a personal statement takes maybe. But you seem to me like someone a college would take a chance on.

I have a Master's degree, but the story ends with me basically getting kicked out of school before I could get certified to teach. A degree in education without certification to teach is worthless, and is leading me nowhere. I have applied to hundreds upon hundreds of jobs over the past few years, and everything I can get I am horribly overqualified for and can't ever live on. I don't know if I want to/can do law school... but... what other option is there unless I just want to never achieve anything ever again. I feel like I am stuck between a rock and a hard place and have no clue what to do.
I would advise against law school, if you are having too much trouble to write a personal statement to apply. Law school is all reading and writing, and it is extremely expensive, stressful and demanding. Then too, you might not be able to get a job when you're done, and it will be that much bigger a waste.
Don't prejudice yourself against jobs where you are overqualified. Even if you are, you will still face the challenges of going to the job and getting along with people every day. This can be a bigger deal than it sounds like, for someone with autism.
How/why did you get kicked out of school? And have you figured out how to avoid that same outcome again?

I'm sorry you are going through all of this, but it certainly doesn't seem hopeless. It just seems like you're in a hard place, and with some determination you'll manage to get out and thrive. I'd also like to know why you got kicked out of school before certification. As far as applying for law schools, I also agree with the suggestion that you should embrace the fact that you have a TBI and are autistic, and make that a central point in your application. If you had good grades in the past, there might very well be a law school that will accept you because of that, and because you are autistic.
Now's the time to throw the long pass like in football. Don't try to come up with details you don't remember and try to hide your disabilities, embrace them and display them and see if a school will be willing to accept you based on your abilities and your disabilities.

I have worked jobs where I am overqualifed for the last decade, but I can't live on it and I will never get promoted in them, so it's just making min. wage forever and never moving up, never being able to get comfortable housing, etc. As for law school, I am good about writing about facts, but about myself, and in interesting ways... not so much. As for getting out of school, it was basically during student teaching my cooperating teacher refused to help me and basically just said autistics shouldn't be teacher before dismissing me from that... and then the school dismissed me from the program.

That's what I tried to do before... but they said it sucked... and I created a new version that is like that which might be better but I think makes me sound sorta dumb... *sighs*
