I have a hard time being humble towards people.

Humility can go a long way.

Thus trait just might save our species.

What is the definition of "selfish", in the dictionary?

You can't measure selfishness.

Besides maybe it is not possible or practical, to care about everyone an equal amount

So let's see... Caring about people is crazy, and not caring about people is just as crazy... Hmmm... Maybe I can't avoid being crazy at all.

Please don't push my buttons Auntblabby. I didn't find your vintage joke funny.

Due you think selfishness can be a survival tactic? If life is harder for you I think at times you have to put yourself first just to stay afloat.

Daniel

Yes. It is much easier to not be selfish, when your own survival needs have been fulfilled

However, it could be a "survival tactic" to have an "in" group too. Cliques, like in middle school. Except for adults.

Not just physical survival, but social and emotional survival

Maybe selfishness is a continuum, not a binary

Maybe selfishness is not always a bad thing

Sometimes selfishness is necessary and functional

You can't measure selfishness
