^^ Total agreement with both points.
The gut has a very complex nervous system of its own - it would make sense that differences in the brain wiring might have parallels in other nerve wiring too. The tactile sensitivity, etc. isn't limited to the brain either.
I find that antihistamines help a lot if I accidentally eat something that tends to set me off. YMMV. Mint tea BTW is a natural antihistamine.
