Let's say you're somebody with nothing to offer to anybody, at all. You have no job (because you're incapable of holding one down long term), no friends (because you run them all away by being mean and weird), no life (because all you do is sit at home and be pathetic), is it okay then? What if you actively wish death on your enemies and make the people around you miserable by constantly being miserable yourself? What if you haven't cleaned your house in months because you have no energy or desire to and, really, what's the point?

At what point is the apparent inherent value of human life negated by how horrible that particular human is?

I'm more of a believer in meaning behind this Stephen Hawking quote: “However bad life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at. Where there's life, there's hope.” and would rather persevere through the worst of times, for as long as it takes, for the possibility of a brighter future.

That said, I suppose I'd be okay with self sacrifice to save a loved one. In that instance I'd give my life. But I personally wouldn't give it up and allow depression or suicidal thoughts win - and I didn't - so, here I am today doing just fine & looking forward to the future.

I think until all treatment options are exhausted. In that case buy a plane ticket to Belgium and get assisted suicide.

Suicide deserves to be punished by death.

A terminal, incurable, disease, that either causes you extreme pain, or loss of your mind e.g. Alzheimer's.

For depression, absolutely not.

If you can't get a paying job. You can do some volunteering work in something that interests you. This will increase your sense of self-worth, and you'll also be making a positive contribution to the world.

I'm going to repeat what you just said:
Suicide deserves to be punished by death.
