So, I losy my job in November last year. And despite trying to find a new one, I haven been usuccessful. The thing is, I am terrafied of applying, and interviewing. Also the idea of meeting all new people, in anew environment scares the hell out of me. Anyway, i only ha enough money to last auntil the end of February.

It is now March, and I havn't paid the rent for this month. I live with my landlord, and today recieved a letter from her asking why i havn't paid and when i will.

I owe 550 pounds for March, and will need another 550 pounds on the 1st of april.

I have no job.
No family
No savings.
2 friends

The two friends are also unemplyed, but through choice. And I'm not sure i could ask them for a 1100 pound loan. My credit rating is also 0.

I don't know what to do. I am so scared. I really need someone to talk with, and someway of getting this sorted.

The worst thing is, I knew this might happen, and didn't do enough to prevent it. If i loose my house, i will be on the street.

I really need someone to talk to. Can you help? please.

Go and apply for Universal Credit immediately, give them all the details, you will receive around £650 in 6-7 weeks. You will then receive that amount each month. Do that first and discuss the problems you are having then talk to your landlord so that she knows that you will be able to pay her then and discuss how you will be able to make up the 2 missing payments, this will take time but at least she will know that you have money coming in from Universal Credit. Do not try to avoid her, that is the worst thing to do if you owe someone money, but go online first to start your claim so that you are able to tell her that you have done that. You can also do this at the job centre, I found mine very helpful. Are you ok with telephones?

^The amount will be slightly higher in London because of the higher rents.

Once you are on UC you will have some breathing space to sort job issues out, for the moment concentrate on stopping your dept increasing.

There is also a thing called the hardship payment when you first claim (it does come out of future payments) but it might be possible if you explain your circumstances to get some so that you are able to give your landlord some of what you owe.

I'm assuming from your use of pounds that you are in the UK.

You should be looking at claiming the relevant out of work / low income benefits. These take a little time to set up so you need to do this as soon as possible. You can get in person help from your local citizens advice.

You might also get help on the Benefits board of the Money Saving Expert Forum at:

If you also need emotional help consider your GP or Samaritans

Have you tried getting a case worker through local disability services? I'm not sure if this is a thing in Europe/UK, but I'd imagine so.They can sometimes pay for your education and job training depending on your income, which in your case, would mean instant qualification. They can also refer you to employers and act as a reference for applications.

You are in serious trouble. Where did you find rent so cheap by London standards is one question I would ask. I doubt if you are evicted that you will find anything cheaper. I have heard that in the UK outside of Scotland squatting is actually legal.
