I embrace it. there are many worse things than loneliness. for decades I daydreamed about being able to be a hermit out in the middle of the woods. now I daydream about being a hermit out on the western pacific coast. one day...

According to some we should shut up, keep it to ourselves and leave other people alone. So keep to our rooms and never talk to anyone unless it’s 100% only positive talk.

So i dont know. But keeping to my room and distractions don’t help.

I don't deal with it. In fact, it has ruined me.

i'm sure of 1]either I was warped by it, or 2]I was warped from the git-go so loneliness was the only remaining option for my life, or some combination of 1 and 2.

Whenever I feel lonely, bad, not enough I go to the gym to work out. Blast some metal music and run for an hour.
Ok, it's more of a jog but it does help for me.
Basically it was part of the "build better habits" plan when decided to get in shape and I decided whenever I crave some sweets I would go to the gym first for an hour and if I still want that icecream or whatever I would have it after. But interestingly during these months I started going also whenever I felt lonely.
Works wonders for me.

I'm around plenty of people almost whenever I want to be, sooo I'm not lonely like that. As for lack of a romantic partner, meh, I have lots of things to do in life that I enjoy so that sort of loneliness doesn't really creep up but once in a blue moon and it's not that big of deal. Doesn't hurt that I have as much of a sex life as I want to have.

I don't. I do a really bad job at dealing with it, but its not like food, you can survive without people for a long time (though probably not indefinitely) if your mind is oriented a certain way.

Having something positive to engage me and what I need in order to pursue it seems to help. To some extent making that happen by doing, whatever it is.
It gets really lonely sometimes.
At least now I feel like I'm developing a better understanding of why it seems that way and maybe better ways to deal with it.

I remember all the times people disappointed me, and all the times I've disappointed other people, and remember that it is likely best for all parties that I be a hermit.

I've always found that I'm loneliest when I'm surrounded by people, but my brain/senses are too overwhelmed to actually interact. So long as I've got nature and some kind of musical instrument close to hand, I'm quite content to have no company for long periods, and I always have been so far as I can remember.
