I guess hate might be too strong because I still like a lot of the little things. But I hear nothing but how my country (and UK and the rest of Europe are slowly declining and some people are speculating that we will become a full dictatorship or unpleasant place to live. I also think the stuff we are seeing today like PC are ridiculous and it just looks like it won't die out. I sometimes wish I grew up when my grandparents or own parents were young. Why this cruel joke by "God" of allowing me to exist "too late" in a society where evil is even more present than 40 years ago?

Sorry, but some things I just wish we still had, I fear for the future of society and it has been a running obsession of mine sine I was still in high school.

[Some things I wish we still had] without naming them? Society's eviler now than it was 40 years ago, huh?

I'll take a pink slip and pass on this thread. But you just wanted to be heard anyway, and maybe even agreed with on your "vague" or "non-specific" "truth"

What is on the decline is the economic dominance of "first world" countries, camaraderie among countrymen in those countries, and morale.

Yes, these too.

You should construct a time machine..........problem solved, yeah right! Since time travel isn't available (to my knowledge) you'll be stuck in
this era of insanity. Might as well embrace it, not the negative garbage but the happiness.

I agree. Almost everything about the present day world is wrong. I made the same point in my introduction thread:

I find this kind of subverted; while there is nothing really wrong with social media itself (Facebook, YouTube, etc.), what's really wrong with it is how people, especially the gullible ones, are seeing certain things there, and may believe everything they watch just because they look 'normal' and 'cool', and end up getting into these things as a social norm. I mean, give me a break, if child porn, scamming people, and deliberately backstabbing friends and family becomes a 'cool/normal social norm' eventually, would you get into those? :skull:

I think the world which you feel is wrong for you, and thus may be wrong for you, others feel is right for them, and thus may be right for them. There are people who are very content and happy with their life at the moment but would be miserable if they lived a life idealistic to you...you may even be misterable if you actually lived in the era you would prefer, at the moment to live in, as how we imagine something to would be often differs from our actual experience of it.
