My condolences on your and your family's loss, Kraftiekortie. I hope at least he was at peace when he passed. The loss will hurt for quite a while, but once you realize that he still lives within you as good memories, it does get better. I wish you safe travel to and from his funeral.

Death is strange.

You can mourn the departed and feel their absence, but also look back on fond memories and cherish the time they were here.

I can't even begin to imagine what you're going through right now, Kraftie. Although I do not know what your relationship was like with your father, hopefully you possess positive memories of him that will help you get through this period of sadness and mourning. As you have commented, he would want you to remain happy despite the situation.
