Seems like everyone is getting lyme disease. My mom had it. Im worried about getting it. The old man I hang out with lives in the woods and has six cats. He had the bulls eye rash but they gave him treatment soon enough that he didnt get lyme. He comes over to my apartment a lot. So Im afraid he will be a carrier of ticks. What can I do? I cant tell him to stop coming over that wouldnt be fair. He has helped me out a lot in the past. I dont know what to do and am scared.

One usually gets Lyme Disease from walking in the forest, and getting bitten by ticks.

I believe you are far less likely to get Lyme Disease from another person who might have ticks.

Ticks don't travel from person to person. If you don't have ticks, it's okay.
If you want to be sure, there are laboratory blood tests for Lyme disease. In the first few months from contagion, it can be wholly cured with antibiotics.
