I decided not go to the soup kitchen this evening because I didnt want to wait for the food or socialize. So I went to Wendys instead. They gave me a huge drink when all I asked for was a medium. It was very wably and when I got to my seat it spilled all over the place. Well I got a free refill but this makes me not want to eat fast food anymore. I think its going to happen to me all the time now. Maybe if I make sure the drink is in the centre of the trey instead of the edge that will help. Maybe if Im more careful but I dont know. The cup was so hard to control. So Im a little freaked out. Feels like I cant enjoy anything without there being some complication. Life is hard.

Sorry that happened to you, Sarah. :( I hope you will feel better. I think next time you should bring up the fact they gave you the wrong drink size or did they only have that size available?

Since then have not gone

They give me a big size when I ask for medium all the time. They didnt over charge me I think they just ran out of medium or something.

I just know this is going to happen to me again though. I am such a clutz.

Wow, that's very inconsiderate of them.
Are they rednecks?

I'd rather be friends with you than someone who is physically graceful but mean in personality.

Next time, ask for a medium---and make sure you get a medium. They don't just "run out" of mediums like that.

If they give you a large, just tell them nicely that you ordered a medium.

At least they gave you the free refill.

I would just chalk it up to having a pain-in-the-butt day. And just move on.

I know with fast food if you order your food together as a meal instead of all the items individually, you'll get the drink size that comes with the meal. They also sometimes give you the meal deal if it's cheaper. Say if you order large fries with a burger & a medium drink, & it's cheaper for you to have a large fry & burger meal, they'll give you the large drink with it instead of the medium.

When I hold the trays, I hold my drink on the very side with my thumb & pointer finger & I grab my tray with the other fingers underneath them. Not sure if that makes sense.

They could I’ve had that happen at places
I even went to a taco bell that at noon had ran out of all cheese. They had no chees at a place that 99% of their food needs cheese
I’m confused? Here refills are always free is that not true for other states?
I can go to McDonald’s get a large drink for $1 and sit there for hours drinking and refilling the cup.

We have a place here called dickies bbq they have yellow plastic cups and you buy one and if you bring it in again drinks free with your meal every time.
Soda for restaurants are super super cheap.
As a kid we use to go to subway after school and just get a drink and drink soda for few hours talking

You don't get free refills within the confines of NYC.

You do, most of the time, in the suburbs, though.

Sarah, avoiding fast food and carbonated drinks entirely is one of the best things you can do for your health. I'm sorry you had an upsetting day. Better luck tomorrow!

I'm with BeaArthur on this one. Over my lifetime I gained a lot of weight. When it began to affect my health, I had weight loss surgery. As a result I dropped 120 pounds and have maintained my weight loss for over 5 years now.

One of the things they taught me was to no longer drink carbonated beverages and also do not drink anything until over a half hour after meals. When you drink at meals it allows the food to compact in your stomach more and therefore allows you to eat more. So I just don't buy any drinks with meals any longer.

I dont want to eat at wendys after that even though its yummy. Yes it would be better for my health to stop and save a lot of money as fast food is kind of expensive these days.

Well today sucks too because the power went off for 4 hours and it looks like everything is still closed. I had stuff to do today. All well.
