I thought this might be good therapy to think of some positive things.
I'm not a therapist, but I've been to a few...

Just write down a fun memory you have from being a child. If you're a teenager, then just from your life.

I remember I used to pretend I was different people that I made up. They had different personalities and different genders. Some could turn into animals because I was influenced by the Animorph book series.

The new year's Eve 1999 at my grandparents house. They threw a huge party, and all of the family were there, and I was 9 and all my cousins were all children too. It was fun. Social gatherings seemed more enjoyable as a kid.

I used to break apart toys and make my own "towns" out of the parts and peices.

I remember my grandfather taking me for walks. We lived with him. He would take me to the park by the river and push me on the swings. He’d push me so high it seemed like I was flying as high as the tree tops. He tried to teach me to whistle. I still can’t! He taught me how to peel an apple in one strip, using a penknife.

I used to play with Lego blocks for hours on end. I liked the castle sets with the dragon people and the wizards. I liked mixing the castle sets with space explorers. The castle had a really big laser cannon built from a crashed space ship.

I took long walks in nature, had a large forest outside the door where i lived.

I played games 24/7 and skipped school sometimes, was bullied until my father learned me how to fight.

During my teens, i played drums in 2 metal bands, one was a trash-metal that i loved (and still do). We actually recorded a few songs, but the lyrics was just what i could describe like "orc-mumblings" :)

I learned programming by exploring different function calls in Basic, got a Final Cartridge 3 for my C64 and learned a few mnemonics of 6502 Assembler by exploration. Little did i know that i started a career...

I listened to radio since there was like - nothing else to do, no internet - nada. Listened to foreign radio like radio Luxenburg, German and Brittish radio. Only way to hear something different back then in the 80s.

I used to desolder lots of components from broken tape recorders and radios, i broke more things than i repaired :D A skill that has remained and been rediscovered as i have repaired a vintage computer or two in recent years.

Nobody told me what i couldn't do, i just did it.

I remember making mud "pancakes" by the creek on my parents' property when my brother, my little sister, and I played down there.

I remember the first time I ever went to Six Flags it was around Halloween and they had scary decorations and actors dressed like zombies.

I started to love zombies after that and I would rent old zombie movies like Night of the Living Dead and Zombie. 8)

When I was a kid it wasn't summer until I spent the whole day swimming at the beach or the pool. It was a lot of fun and I just loved the water. I seemed to have a natural instinct for swimming.

The campfires we'd have at night were fun, too. Being allowed outside after dark at the camping grounds was something of a novelty.

When I was little, kids were free to roam anywhere they could go. My favorite place was the ruins of an old palace. The invading army burnt it down and it was left to grow wild. I like to walk around, trying to read stuff on stones and pick wild flowers and chase butterflies. Sometimes I go wading in a creek. It was a lonely and beautiful place and I rarely encountered anybody.

I always enjoyed exploring. I was quite fearless when I was young.
