I feel like I've been crying more often lately; I think the stress of school gets me thinking about what I hate about myself, and about the possibility that it'll stay this way forever. And then I spend too much time crying and fall behind on my work, which sometimes makes me cry even more because I'm so angry at myself...

I know the obvious answer to this is "stop crying and start working" but it's so hard when I don't have anybody to help me out. I don't feel comfortable talking about these things with my family, and my best friend is always crazy busy and has a hard time answering texts, so I can't bug her about it most of the time.

I cry whenever I think about the fact that I will die someday because nothing will prevent it, and it might not be a peaceful kind of death I could get violently and painfully killed. :(

I cry often because I know how f****d I am. My body is falling apart, the stress it causes me and that there isn't anything I or anyone else can do to stop it. I often reserve my crying for late at night when I am alone and there isn't anyone around to hear me. :|

Same. I only cry when I'm alone in my bedroom.

Me too. It's the worst.

I rarely cry. Usually I do a lot of rocking and hand rubbing when I'm upset.

I absolutely CAN'T cry in front of people. It's not that I try to hide my emotions, but I have some sort of mental block against it.

Not often enough is such a good answer. I feel the same. I cried very often as a child late at night from wrenching despair. I do get emotional briefly from time to time (ie "choked up"), but I don't cry. It's like there's not enough there.

The last time I cried was in January when I sat next to my Mom and watched her take her last breath in the hospital when they took her off life support and saw my crying Dad look at her and whisper: "Thank you for a wonderful life."

Otherwise really fully crying? Sadly, thirty years? I don't remember

Hugs to you, Magna. That's such a bittersweet memory about your parents :(

I feel the same way. I cried of loneliness as a child and young adult, and with grief when my father died. During my trauma years I repressed my feelings to avoid vulnerability and then I was put on medication that made it impossible to cry, because I felt flatlined. I couldn't shed a tear until June of this year when I travelled to my grandfather's former property to reflect on his suicide. I'm glad to say I reduced my medication and cried my heart out this past Sunday because of an argument. It felt very therapeutic and I realised how much I've held back.

Thanks, Isabella. I do remember a full on cry can be so cathartic.

i'd say more often than i find acceptable. mostly when triggers hit in, or in overloaded meltdown. i'd rather not.

There are times where messing things up so much/being critiqued by people becomes too much for me, which will have me in tears. I feel like such a disease sometimes.

I cry alone in my bedroom at night so my roommate can't hear me. It's been more frequent lately. I have major depressive disorder and anxiety (along with AS) which doesn't help my situation. My job has been stressful lately as well.
