I don't care about being an American, I don't care about being from the South, and I don't care about being part Hawaiian.

I say f**k this entire BS country and let it fall apart!

For now on I am me and nothing else. I will no longer let where I come from define who I am.

because u are not ur place of birth. u have urself. that is quite right. tbh i never was "proud" of being born in certain place, or carrying certain national traits. or ashamed, either. never was my choice, so why would i? same goes for u. u have things u've done to be proud of.

I think pride can be a terrible thing.

pride in one's place of origin can be associated with some very dangerous things.
fortunately the opposite is true too. but good for you.

I like female monsters that are half-animal like Lamia (half-snake), Mermaids (half-fish), Harpies (half-bird), etc.

I somehow relate to that, like I myself am not a complete person.

We are what we are in life.

We're very much a product of our time and place, whether we like that fact or not.

It's not about pride or lack thereof, rather realizing the reality of where you are. I'm not an ancient Babylonian princess, I'm not a medieval French knight, and I'm not a beggar child on the streets of Dickensian London. Nothing against those folks, but it's not my path in this life.

OP, pride AND lack thereof in one's place are opposite ends of the same emotional spectrum. Stop worrying so much about either. Just accept you're a late 20th/early 21st century American from down South this time 'round. That's not good or bad, it just is.

(P.S.: I don't really believe in reincarnation, though anything's possible. I say these things anecdotaly.)

well sometimes it is handy. i am an aspergerian. i need that label. i've lived without it for way too long. doesnt help much, bc ppl cant f*****g comprehend what it means, but at least i know what is happening to me and why. that helps...

"I don't believe in labels" is also a label of sorts.

Ok so how about this? Labels do exist and we all fit certain labels. It's best to not become obsessed with your own labels and you feel a lot happier when you quit giving a s**t about the negative stigmas that people attach to you because of your labels.

well. u see, stigma i have is because ppl dont.f*****g.understand what my condition is about. i kinda wear it on a flag. i make myself prominent. i collect all the nice things i was told about myself. (my favorite still is "socially unacceptable jerk"). if its all they see, then its what they get. but that doesnt help to fit in anywhere.
it can be fun, sure. i enjoy it quite greatly. burning bridges. they look gorgeous on fire. but then there allways is somebody u dont want to burn with the bridge. and here comes pleasure in restraint. dont do that. u could have, but u dont. because u can not-do-it. not allways works, though. control over ur dark side is... draining. sometimes not even possible. sometimes u have to go make amends, and sometimes they are not accepted. here goes stigma thats not that easy to wear. it hurts. but if at least interally i know why it happened... makes it easier to bear.
