My husband was sent to the hospital last week for a high sugar attack and while he was there they found stuff wrong with his heart and he's having problems walking so he wasn't allowed to go home and placed in a nursing home for now. I hate saying but this takes a lot of weight off my shoulders for now and it's more "peaceful" being alone in here... Anyway I have to attend a meeting next week about his long-term care before he is allowed to come back home. He's only in his 50's but he has problems like someone much older.

You're a good person, Angnix. It's normal to enjoy the "peace" when your spouse is elsewhere. I'd bet that you still miss Dear Hubby and want him home ASAP.

I visited him today and he greeted me with hugs and kisses... He misses his apartment

Yeah....I know what you mean, Angnix.

It's pretty peaceful when my wife isn't home, either!

u face so much stress its ONLY natural to feel reprieve. and u are not neglecting ur husband, he is getting care, so there is totally nothing wrong with ur feelings. being burned out with everything life throws at u, take this time to recurperate. (and ya i know i dont answer ur threads often, but i read them. i just opt to not blab when i have nothing useful to say. now i think i do.) dont blame urself, use it to a possible maximum. cheers.

Do you remember me suggesting you get some respite care for him? This is serving the same function. Don't feel guilty about your sense of relief. It's only natural.

I hope things go well for you both.

He's doing well. They gave him a nice private room and I'll know he'll be nice and warm tomorrow in the horrible cold weather. I'll stay snuggled in my apartment, almost everything in the city is closed tomorrow because of the horrible cold!! !

Divorce is always an option if you don't love him anymore.

"wanting a little rest from someone" doesnt equal "dont love". wtf. i want rest from my kid, she overwhelms me, being an allistic overactive toddler. doesnt mean i dont love her. as much love as one can feel, one can need personal space. that should be recognized, understood and respected.

I'm starting to get lonely now cause I don't want to leave my apartment because of the severe cold continuing to tomorrow. Friday we get our checks, they said he can leave the nursing home for a few hours so he wants to go somewhere, but at the end of the day he has to go back to the nursing home.

It's going to be like "normal winter" in Michigan Friday. like in the upper teens/low 20's, rather than below zero. There could be light snow....par for the course. I hope you have a nice time with your husband.

Take advantage of the "downtime" now. Watch TV. Read. Do whatever.

You will see your husband tomorrow. Take advantage of the quiet for one more day.

Yeesh, Boo! Let the girl have a breather without having to feel guilty for it.

Angnix, your life is so crazy it's only natural for you to feel good that someone else is taking responsibility for a short while. Just try to rest and do something you enjoy. God knows you've deserved it.

In Celsius terms, it's in the Minus 20's Celsius now. By Friday, it will go up to the Minus single digits Celsius.

Thanks! I grew up with the Farenheit system. We’ve being using Celsius here for a long time, but I’ve ended up forgetting a lot of the old system and not fully accepting the “new”!
